Leslie Vasquez- Democrats and Republicans Make Final Decisions for Midterms

On the eve of elections, there have been many sides on how the 2018 midterms will define the future of this country. Trump, however, has been adamantly focused on the caravan coming from Central America, saying that their movement to the U.S. is an ''invasion," and that the Democrats will allow them to overwhelm their communities, schools, etc. Former President Obama has taken a different approach, saying that "The character of this country is on the ballot," essentially conveying that whatever the results are from these midterms will define us indefinitely. Some think the Democrats will be able to take the House as majority, but others are still confident that Republicans will still hold it. For Texas specifically, Beto and Cruz are neck and neck, causing a whirlwind of emotions through the state. This is also happening in other states, almost unprecedented.

Just as there have been many close races for electing presidents in the past, this really is no different. Midterms matter, too. There is a reason why they exist and how they're supposed to work. I want to hope that Texas, and overall this country, does pick the side most logical tomorrow so that we don't have to keep this undying reputation of going against the wishes of the general public.
