This article talking about why people don’t vote in regards to the three main reasons. Number one people don’t dont vote because they don’t think that their votes matter. Number to people doing that because voters or worried about their gender ethnicity and social or economic background. Number three is because they are confused they do not know how to register her what do you requirements are to register . Another key point on why people want other people to register and vote it’s because if there was a winner for nonvoters, nonvoters would win for the past hundred years.
This relates to APUSH because it is showing that the people are more influencing to the government and who is chosen to lead our government. When we have Federalists and anti-Federalist the federalist thought that the only people that would influence the president election was the wealthy. Now everybody influences the election.
Very nice comparison! My dad voted already, but my mom hasn't because she just became an U.S. citizen a few years ago and hasn't voted ever since because she doesn't understand politics and who to choose. We can't seem to convince her because she thinks that her vote doesn't amount for much.
ReplyDeleteI disagree to the people who don't think that voting is important. In my opinion, voting is important and everyone's vote DOES matter! Great job! -Karsyn Kelly
ReplyDeleteIt's really interesting to hear why people don't vote, hopefully we can use this knowledge to try to better educate people on voting and help more people get to the polls
ReplyDeleteNon-voters get a lot of backlash in politics, but I think that it's important that we see both sides of the picture. I do believe that it is important to excursive our rights as citizens to vote, however, voting can be a difficult and stressful process if you have never done it. In addition to these matters, it is paramount that we know that our votes do matter to some extent and that we need every vote to cause shifts in our communities.
ReplyDeleteEveryone’s vote does matter! I wish people were more informed about the importance of voting and how to do it.This was really well written and I liked how you compared it to Apush. -Lesly Marquez
ReplyDeleteActually, your singular vote is basically negligible, especially in presidential elections. But the reason it is important to vote is because many votes combined do matter.
ReplyDeleteI think people take for granted their power to vote. In some countries people have no say in who is ruling them. If people actually want a change in this country, they need to use their right and vote!
ReplyDeleteI think that we shouldn’t be pressuring people into voting because in the end it is our decision. I agree that we should educate people how to vote and where to keep up with politics and things like that.

I think that the more people vote, the more accurately the government will represent the true wishes of the people. I think articles like this help us to identify and remove potential obstacles to the abilities of the people to vote.
