Importance of Midterms - Lily McCollum
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2018/11/04/midterm-election-whats-stake-where-vote-poll-hours-rules-locations-results/1826145002/
Though many people do not care about midterm elections as much as presidential elections, they are still extremely important. People are voting on both house and senate, so there could be major effects from this election. The Republican party currently has total control, so democrats taking the senate or the house is crucial for separation of powers and checks and balances. It is also important to actually research the candidates to see what they stand for and what they want to achieve before just picking the candidate with an R or a D by their name.
I strongly agree with the stances of this article. It is crucial that people go to the polls and vote tomorrow. I'm hoping for Beto, but on a larger scale, I just hope that the Republican party comes out of it with less of a majority. This article manages to stay informational, and not just tell you who to vote for. This article was written to get people to cast an educated vote.
It is sad to see how many people do not exercise their right to vote. In our country's past, people have had to fight hard to gain this right. It is a shame to see that people are not taking this opportunity to effect change. People talk about how they do not feel listened to and want to make a change, yet they do not make use of the easiest way to achieve this: voting.
