KuKluxKlan Rally Ends in Violence

On February 28th a KuKluxKlan rally was held in Anaheim, California where many Klan members met to protest against recent "Black" matters. Members held up signs such as 'White Lives Do Matter' accompanied by a confederate flag. The violence began when KKK members arrived in a black SUV at a local park for the rally and they were attacked by counter-protesters. Thirteen people were arrested including a Klansman who stabbed one of the counter protesters with a flag pole.

There were six KKK members that showed up and they were attacked by an even larger number of counter protesters. They proceeded to kick and punch KKK members with wooden planks. However not every counter protester was up for a fight. "A lot of us were trying to break it up," says witness Dion Reuters. One witness stated that he helped pull one of the KKK members out of the brawl and then after asked the Klansman how he felt about being saved by a Jew. Ironic?
In addition to the amount of karma that came back on the KKK in this situation that most important thing to take note of is synthesis. The KKK was very popular in Anaheim and has a long history in that region being that one of the KKK members was elected to the city council in 1920's. The synthesis is that America has come a long way however if we look at factors such as racial brutality, ignorant groups such as the KKK it makes you wonder how much have we socially progressed.

  1. Such racism seems so far fetched for today, yet somehow the desire white supremacy is still visible. I cannot fathom how this is possible.
