An Oscar Night// Arianna Sotero

This article from GMA discusses what we can expect from The Oscars that will air tonight. Even with the drama and threats of boycott, the 88th Academy Awards will be worth watching this year, especially with this years host, Chris Rock. Rock said that most of his monologues will address the questions of relevancy and lack of diversity in the nomniations everyone has been buzzing about. The audience can expect a show that will be talked about for weeks.

It is very interesting to see how far Americans have come with the entertainment industry and how it is such a big part of our society now. Even though so much time has passed since these forms of entertainment entered America, we still struggle with many problems regarding discrimination and lack of diversity. With all the buzz from boycotters and media leading up to the show, tonight will be definitely worth watching. It will be interesting to see how the Academy will address this drama.

  3. Angelique Flores 9th - I agree without the entertainment industry evolving from the first actors, musicians, singers, dancers, and artists that we would never be such a diverse society with almost everything we do. Especially at Booker T.
