So Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are like old, crusty crabs in a bucket surrounded by the glorious African American vote, right. Hillary's got Bill touring schools and speaking for his wife to win votes, but what's Bernie doing? The question isn't what he's doing, but what he's done. In 1963, in the midst of the Civil Rights movement, a filmographer named Jerry Temaner was at a student walk-out/protest where he filmed a student get arrested. Who was this student? Why, no other than Bernie Sanders himself...at least that's what people think. Although it isn't known for sure, there is some pretty good evidence to prove it's him, like a yearbook picture of him matching up to the student getting arrested. Could Bernie's arrest win him the vote he's been fighting for and help him recreate what FDR had done 80 years ago?
As mentioned before, FDR was the first Democratic president to win over the African American vote since whoever did it before the Civil War. With the help of racial, religious, and economic minorities, FDR destroyed Landon in the 1936 election. This rings a bell since Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton have been fighting to get a racial minority's vote as well. Whoever wins this little fight will surely use it to win the Republican spot in the 2016 election
