Hurricane Irma has began its rage. There has been a lot of anticipation since its beginnings. It started at a very high category, and has since then fallen to a category two. Its storm is brining tornadoes and flooding all throughout Florida because its wider than the actual state itself. Its a category two and the winds are 105 mph. Currently it is approaching Tampa, Florida, and previously it was approaching West Palm and Miami. It is expected to go North to Northwest tonight. There is lot of water damage in areas, many streets flooded, including the Miami International Airport that is sustained due to flooding. The city of Venice in Florida shut off their water plant as well. Tornadoes have touched down as well, causing many homeless.
This is very important because it is keeping everyone updates, not only for family and friends, but for the victims themselves. They need to understand the danger they are in and what the best way to prepare and take protection is. this author is very bluntly stating the needed facts which is very helpful. I think that this situation is terrible and will affect many more lives than we can imagine. This relates to APUSH because it makes us realize that when storms like this happened back then there was not the technology that there is today to notify and help the people and community out. Also, in history we do not hear about natural disasters happening in the New World until more recent times, who knows how many storms there were before they found the New World.

I have defiantly been checking all the updates about Irma. Due to the outskirts of her already creating damage a lot of people have lost power and are unable to get these updates. Hopefully they are at least aware of the deadly storm surge that is predicted to do more damage then Irma has already done.
