On the night of September the 7 at about 12pm an earthquake happen in Mexico. The earthquake was about 8.1 magnitude. It hit states like Chiapas, Oaxaca, Guatemala and it even reach toward Mexico City. The most affected state was Chiapas with building coming down. The dead roll at the moment has been about 61 people. The president Pena Nieto as send army, marines and federal police to help the affected. There has been one tsunami confirmed reaching about 3 feet. This earthquake has been the strongest in about 100 years, the last one being around the same states, with almost the same magnitude and killing about 9,500 people.
Analysis:
I feel that Mexico has been more prepared since the last huge earthquake. They have had sirens installed warning people and the people that live there ,although scared, know that there are probabilities of earthquakes happening. The most affected state is one of the poorest which makes me feel scared because they aren't has prepared has people in the cities. My mom's friend, that lives in Mexico City, told my mom that she woke up n the middle of the night feeling the earth shaking and she states she saw lightning coming from the ground. At the moment she didn't know what was happening, that the end of the world was happening. I sincerely hope that most in the earthquake are alright .
