Zoe Bator- Woman Fights Cities To Keep Emotional Support Pony

Woman Fights Cities To Keep Emotional Support Pony

Summary: A woman, Pam Davidson, in a town called Clarrisa, in central Minnesota, is fighting to keep the horse that helps with her depression. Davidson said after locking herself in her room for a year and a half, the pony she named "Tony the Wonder Pony" helped her emotionally to better herself and get back on her feet. The horse to her is an emotional support animal, but the city leaders are trying to get the animal out of city lines since so farm animals are technically allowed inside city lines. Davidson has since ignored the orders and the court is said to take action soon.

Analysis: I'm guessing Clarrisa is a very small town and that's why it's so strict, but I still don't understand because since the pony is helping the mental health of one of the city's citizens, why the city would want to take it away from the woman. The town did defend itself by saying that the animal didn't follow the rules of a "proper" emotional support animal. I'm concluding that Davidson will probably move because I highly doubt that she would just give up this animal that has helped her through so much.

  1. I say justice for Tony the Wonder Pony! Many people have different ways of coping with their mental illness and if people can do drugs to cope with their depression, why can't a woman keep a horse, amiright?

  3. As a person who rides horses and has done so for 9 years, I can attest to the fact that horses can be very good stress relievers and can help lift your mood. It sounds like she's had time to really bond with her equine companion and taking Tony away now would most likely make her depression come back very strongly.

  4. I feel so bad for her! Maybe they can compromise so she can keep the horse just under different circumstances. I don't understand why they are trying to take something that helps someone with a mental illness.

  6. This is horrible to hear! The town should understand that the horse is helping this woman through her depression, and respect her need to keep it.
