Trump Expected to End DACA Program - Spencer Bolding

http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/04/politics/daca-twitter-reaction/index.html

Trump has plans to discontinue an Obama-era program known as DACA, (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) a program that benefits undocumented citizens, protecting them from being forced out of the country. This could potentially ruin the lives of many immigrants who are trying to make proper life for themselves. The problem with this is that our president doesn't realize that our nation was/is built solely on the hard work of immigrants. Our country has been run by immigrants before, so why force them to leave? This article seems to be pretty non-bias, but does however address the fact that DACA is supported mainly by democrats and moderate republicans.

  1. This is outrageous! There are other ways to handle the immigration problem.

  2. The discontinuation of DACA, a program that allows young children to pursue an education and later on work, is totally contradicting Trumps presidential campaign that said ONLY criminals were going to be 'removed' from the country

  3. I totally agree with you! Trump is trying to get rid of something so valuable to so many people in our country and its unfair. Also, on top of that he isn't providing an alternative to help those people.

  4. I agree. It bugs me when people are constantly against immigrants without realizing that the US was basically built on people coming from other countries, well, except for the native Americans.

  5. Ending DACA could mean the deportation of approximately 800,000 immigrants, who were brought to the US by their parents when they were children. I would guess most of these immigrants would not have another country to call home. The US is their home and deporting them seems very cruel.
