Shayne Grant: Steve Bannon declares war with Republican Congress in interview

President Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon, sat down with CBS's "60 Minutes" to express his disdain with the Republican leadership in Congress. In the interview he accused Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan of trying to "nullify" the 2016 presidential election and for not repealing the Obama-era Affordable Care Act. He criticized Congress for having no accountability adding that he would use his right-winged media company, Brietbart News, to call out Republicans who are not "helping Trump further his agenda." He goes on in the article to shame Trump's director of the National Economic Council for criticizing Trump's response to the Charlottesville Attacks.
It is obvious from this interview that Bannon is of a belief that Republicans need to rally around Trump no matter what. This is detrimental because party lines should not be so defined that you defend your party's front leader no matter what they do even if it is wrong. Bannon is wrong to go out and attack these people for holding their own personal beliefs. If we try to suppress these personal ideas just to defend a political candidate, we are no different than the situation than the one that we got out of in 1776. It is a direct threat to our freedom.
