Only 12 hours ago, a mass shooting at a Plano football party killed 9 people. Shockingly, 6 out of the 9 went to University of Texas including the shooter. As of now, the UTD community are grieving and are waiting for further information.
The police report states, that Meredith Hight ( deceased) was hosting a football party for her friends, but her husband, Spencer Hight, shot her and her friends. The reason is still unknown ,but the now deceased couple were going through a divorce which probably ignited some blind rage within him. Sadly, many of the people he killed were also Spencer Hight's friends that he knew back at UTD. Another observation is that out of all the people he killed, Spencer was the only one who didn't receive a degree which could have made him jealous.
This pertains to history because there are multiple instances when people are blinded by rage and jealousness and start killing people.

This is crazy. I don't understand what would make a man want to shoot innocent people, divorce or not. I am interested to hear about updates from this, to see what the cause of the shooting really was. I agree with the suggestions you made, they all would make sense due to the context of the couple's relationship.
ReplyDeleteOlivia Wall- It is very sad that shootings happen and it is awful that 2/3 of the victims went to the same college, they could have known each other. Although a divorce is hard, that is no reason for major violence.
ReplyDeleteThis is so shocking and out of nowhere. This shows how people need to learn how to control their jealously and not take it out on others.
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be some other kind of way that people can take out their anger! Maybe if this man was into something like boxing, he could have taken out his anger in a more productive way and not taken the lives of multiple people. I think anger management methods should be taught and marketed more.
ReplyDeleteIt is devestating to hear this! People can be so clueless and reckless sometimes! It is not fair for innocent people to lose their lives just because someone is UPSET or SAD or just in a bad mood. We need to control our emotions, and if we don't have the capability to control our emotions, we need to get help in order to prevent this silly/unneccessary violence.
ReplyDeleteIts sad to see people get to a point of jealousy and rage to where they have to take someones life. Divorce is hard and stressful, but not worth killing for.
