Right now in the Atlantic there are three storms right now that are circling. One of the three is already a hurricane while the other ones are continuing to get stronger.  These storms are anticipated to hit the same areas that Irma hit. A new storm named "Maria" formed just on Saturday and is anticipated to become a hurricane by Wednesday. They think it will be a huge hurricane and that it will be capable of major destruction. The storm, as of this Sunday morning, is heading to the Caribbean at a speed of 15 mph. The highest winds have been 85 mph so far. It is expected to travel and hit the Leeward Islands and then go to Puerto Rico/Haiti and Dominican Republic. Meaning, that by Tuesday or Wednesday,  hurricane symptoms could sweep where Irma hit again.  The other hurricanes are Jose and Lee. Jose is affecting Bermuda,  the Bahamas, and Hispaniola, and Puerto Rico. Lee is affecting Northwest Africa.

This is very important to know for the safety of not only people in the United States but all countries that could be in the direct path of a storm coming from the Atlantic Ocean. These are all very severe storms that, because of how fast the internet is, can be avoided and or can be prepared for. There is no way of stopping a storm, but because of the advancement of technology there can be many ways to prepare in order to be least affected. In APUSH, this relates because although the information now is spread faster, in the colonies information was shared very quickly, especially before/ during the American Revolution because they were joined together to fight against Britain. They were depending on each other to prepare in advance for the wars that would take place and whole communities came together for the overall safety of the environment and the families. This article was written to update people in danger and to educate the families and others of the danger that is happening. These are very tragic storms that are occurring and I pray that people take proper cover and use correct protection from the storms.

  1. It's good that people are constantly being updated on natural disasters. It gives people time to at least try to evacuate. It would be terrible if a storm came out of nowhere with no warning whatsoever.

  2. Its horrible how communication is so hard to get through to other countries especially in this day and age of technology.
