Summary:
On Sunday at about 12:30pm the body of Kenneka Jenkin was found in a walk-in freezer in a hotel. She had been at a party in the same hotel on Friday night.The last anyone herd from Kenneka was for her sister in a text.Her friends later on called her mother ,about 4:30am, to tell her they couldn't find her daughter. The mother ,Tereasa Martin, went to the hotel and ask if she could see the surveillance cameras, so she could have an idea were her daughter might have gone. The hotel workers denied to let her see the cameras without a police report. Tereasa then called the police but they advice her to wait a couple hours. On Saturday, the mother finally issued a police report and got the surveillance cameras of the hotel. A search was issued in the hotel and Kenneka was found in a freezer. Police now have a open investigation of what happen. they are investigating 43 hotel cameras, interviewing 12 people, they are also looking into a Facebook live video posted by the victim.
Analysis:
The reason why I chose to write about this story is the input of social media.There is a lot of people theorizing of what happen. Many people believe that her friends tried to murder her. People in social media have look into the Facebook live video and heard the victims scream in the background. I feel that this is something horrendous that has happen and it is great that people are trying to help. But I feel that by doing this, they are hurting the family of what happen. The police will solve the case .I do believe however the hotel and police department should have let the mother look into the surveille cameras earlier.
