An attack on the London tube at Parsons Green Station injured 30 people. On Friday, an improvised explosive device went off as a train arrived during rush hour. Two arrests were made and they are still searching the area and canvasing neighborhoods for anymore people that might have been involved. The public is now hesitant to ride the tube to work, but some have no other options. The government has stationed armed police inside stations to ensure safety of citizens. Not exclusively placed in Tube stations, many more police have been patrolling crowded streets and area looking for unusual behavior. Many anti-terrorism precautions are now underway, $32.6 million are going to these new operations. The Parsons Green Station reopened the next morning, on Saturday, and is back in full swing. The investigation is still going on and they are urging anyone that has information to come forward to help quicken the pace.

I think that a lot of naive Americans are under the impression that the U.S. is only subjected terrorist attacks, but that is not the case. Paris, the UK, and other European countries are targeted every day. Suicide bombers have become very popular in ISIS and other terrorist organizations. This makes it hard to continue investigations because they cannot take the suspect in for questioning. Ultimately, attacks like these will unify nations and lead to allies, but they can also lead to full fledged wars if not handled carefully. Every country needs to be vigilant and keep their guard up without accusing unstable countries that might potentially attack. Bombs in crowded places terrify the public and spread crippling fear because they are so random that there is no predicting them. Not only that, anyone can be affected which is a scary that they are not necessarily targeting specific people just a lot of people. Big places are deemed no longer safe and crowds are even more dangerous. I think that Nations affected need to join together, consolidate resources, and work with another to come up with a solid solution before things get worse.

  1. It seems that I'm seeing articles about terrorist attacks in both Paris and London almost every day. Hopefully the cities can gain more support to strengthen their authorities and protect their citizens from further attacks.

  2. I agree that most Americans are only worried about ourselves with terrorist attacks, but we should worry about other countries that are victims of it too.

  4. I agree that nations affected need to join together, consolidate resources, and work with another to come up with a solid solution before things get worse. The fact that citizen have a fear of their own and others lives on public transportation is concerning. With the attention they are putting into this incident it hopefully wont happen again.
