This story truly makes me sick to my stomach!
The story published on 9/11/17 by associated press tell the horrifying nightmare an 8 year old burial boy endured on August 28th.
The grandmother of the 8 year old said the teens had been teasing her grandchild on the way home. While they were in the backyard , the teens grabbed the rope of a tire swing , wrapped it around the boys neck , and pushed him off the picnic table. The boy was treated at a local hospital and has since returned to school. Really America ?? Are you SERIOUS ? IS THIS WHAT WE ARE TEACHING OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS. THAT IS OK TO BE RACIST AND HANG A BOY WHO IS OF AFRICAN DESCENT. THE WORSE PART OF THIS SITUATION IS THE POLICE ISNT GIVING INFORMATION. DENYING THAT THE 8 YEAR OLD WAS INVOLVED AND NOT SPECIFING IF THE TEENS ARE GOING TO GET IN TROUBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS. We need to be better. I know that this didn’t start with the children. This started with us and their parents. Their parents first of all for teaching them that it’s ok to be a racist and be evil. It is our fault for NOT teaching them that it is wrong and that they don’t gave to do everything their parents say if it’s morally wrong. We as a country need to work together to stop this hatred diesease from being passed on to generation after generation. This is just one of many stories of how hatred and racism is getting bigger and bigger as each generation is introduced and it needs to be STOPPED. This article affected me because I do not want to introduce my children in this world , biracial or fully ethnic and have to worry if someone taught to be racist and hate my children. Taught them that it was ok to hurt my children because they are better then them. I was taught to love everyone and I want everyone else to be taught that as well. We CANNOT , I’m going to repeat this one more time , WE CANNOT GO TBROUGH THIS AGAIN. As Americans we can’t divide ourselves from each other again. We can’t.
This is an awful story! I completely agree with your stance on this topic. I would like to think that we left our bad habits of racism and creulty behind, but it is clear that we have not. We definitely need to work together in order to leave this cruelty behind us for good.
ReplyDeleteThis is such an emotional story. The fact that teenagers hung an 8 year old boy is horrible whether they meant to or not. I can't stand how parents and law enforcement can let this happen.
ReplyDeleteJust by reading the title I was appalled! I 1000000000% agree with you that we need to educate more people to not be racist and violent. This is NOT ok. I feel so bad for the boy and his family; those kids who tortured the boy need to be punished!! I'm absolutely disgusted by the their behavior.
