Isabella Bruner -Researchers say More Guns on Campuses Won't Make People Safer

Summary:
As the issue is rising up in America over gun safety as it is spreading to colleges and schools campuses. As eights states in the U.S. allow people to have guns with them (Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin). As many people believe that guns are the reason why their is so much killing and havoc and I don't blame them. People are starting to do protests at colleges showing their opinions over gun safety . "Increasing gun availability in campus environments could make far more common acts of aggression, recklessness or self-harm more deadly and, thus, have a deleterious impact on the safety of students, faculty and staff'" said by researchers at John Hopkins University. As these gun acts have created mass shootings such as Virginia Tech University with 33 people killed and 23 injured in 2007, Northern Illinois University in 2008 with the killing of 6 and wounding 21, and the shooting at the University of Texas killing 16 people on 1966.

Analysis:
This article written by Jon Schuppe on October/24/2016 talks about the issue in our country with gun control. This article helps address the negative and sad side to gun freedom. For me, there is a very fine line with having a gun, you can only use it to help feed and support your family. I don't believe in using it for fun in hunting, I don't believe using it for safety around regular class citizens, and I don't believe in using it to kill someone of false assumptions and judgments. A gun is the most lethal weapon and to let regular everyday citizens to have it in their pocket just boggles my mind.  For me, I believe that a taser is a better option than a gun for everyone, including police. Another event that relates to this issue is all rallies and protest. With the group of people with similar ideas and views to address the issues and problems in America like women's rights, Gay's rights, and the rights for equality for races.
