Stephanie Toribio- Supreme Court will Hear Case on Transgender Rights

The Supreme Court will hear a case on bathroom laws for trans* teens. Said case decides a Virginia high school senior's right to pee(for the love of god really?? We're really gonna bring a case about peeing to the Supreme Court??). Of course, and rightly so, Virginia senior Gavin Grimm sued the school board after they adopted a policy requiring students to use the bathroom that corresponds with their sex. Not the sex they identify with, oh goodness no; that'd hurt the feelings of a bunch of parents that don't mind their own business. No they have to use the bathrooms that corresponds with their biological sex. When Grimm first came out, the principal let him use the boys' restroom, but after several complaints from parents, the school board introduced the bathroom policy, thus forcing Grimm to either use a single-stall restroom in a private office or the ladies' room.
In an article he wrote, he said, "If you told me two years ago that the Supreme Court was going to have to approve whether I could use the school restroom, I would have thought you were joking." He also wrote about the humiliation he felt every time he had to use the restroom.
He has the support of the Obama administration. In May, the White House told schools to let their students use the bathroom that they feel most comfortable with, citing Title IX, a federal law that protects students from gender discrimination. Their decision was supported by many trans* rights advocates, but of course was ignored. A Texas federal judge granted an injunction that repealed the policy.
"As we've reported, the lawsuit argues that the guidance from the White House would turn schools 'into laboratories for a massive social experiment.' "

Alright y'all listen up. 👏we👏should👏not👏be👏denying👏someone👏their👏right👏to👏a👏public👏bathroom👏just👏because👏of👏the👏feelings👏of👏a👏few👏because if we focused on them, it wouldn't benefit anyone. It's downright silly that we have to fight for equal rights, i mean, we're all people and we shouldn't be denying anyone of anything(unless its some illegal jazz then deny all you want). I mean seriously, we're denying gays their right to marriage just because a few bigoted Christians feel "offended" or because "God hates fags" but i mean, isn't y'all's God against hating people?? Doesn't he love everyone unconditionally?? i swear those people just pick and choose what bits from the Bible to use in their arguments against gay people, transgender people, etc etc etc.

  1. Totally agree with you. If rednecks can tote around a confederate flag without repercussions, then trans people should be able to use the bathroom they want. Even though the two aren't remotely comparable on how bad they are. Obviously a flag is much worse.
