"Update: Dallas police say standoff suspect is being evaluated, no criminal charges yet filed" - Natalie H. - Class 2

Last Tuesday, March 25, my APUSH class was interrupted by our principle, instructing us to go into lockdown.
"Wow, this drill is really long," I commented in a hushed voice 20 minutes or so later.

A classmate heard, and whispered in reply, "This isn't a drill. There's a gunman about a mile away from the school."

What I have gathered is that some man shot off a gun in the Dallas Arts District and then ran off towards the Vista Apartments. He remained inside the building for about an hour till the police cornered him and arrested him on spot. The gunman's name has not been revealed.

Luckily no one was injured that day. Of course, my back aches from being hunched over for so long, but I'll be okay.
