Deaf woman hears for the first time Peyton Wilson 5th period

A woman in the UK who had been deaf her whole life had a life changing procedure done and there is a video of her hearing for the first time, later saying that the procedure was the most emotional endeavor of her life.

Analysis:

I find it remarkable that technology has come so far that a woman, deaf since birth, can get a procedure, allowing her to hear.  She later asked a friend to make a playlist of songs because she had always wanted to know what music sounded like. What songs do you play for someone who has never heard music? I know that, personally, a day without music sounds like torture, so imagining 40 years without it is absolutely astounding.

  1. I wonder how she had thoughts in her head. Did she think in sign language?
