Two teenagers, Brandon Goode and Alexandria Hollinghurst, from Davenport, Florida are accused of shooting a Windermere police officer before they both committed suicide. During the rescue more gunshots were heard and the two teens' bodies were found not far from where Officer Robert German had been shot. The five year Windermere officer was pronunced dead at an Orlando hospital. The two teens left their families suicide letters after running away from home together and claiming that they were engaged. Officer German's tragic death has greatly affected the close-knit community of Winderemere, and Goode's parents acknowledged their sympathy in their statement to the press.
This entire situation is very tragic and unfortunate. Like everybody else I don't understand as to why Brandon and Alex killed an innocent police officer and went on to commit suicide. Maybe if Officer German never showed up the two teens would still be alive. However, I hope that this recent tragedy helps to get the message out to others that suicide is not the answer.
