Carsin Ablon, 1st Period APUSH -Aging Successfully Reversed in Mice; Human Trials to Begin Next

Scientists have successfully reversed the aging process of cells in mice. Lead Researcher David Sinclair of the University of New South Wales plans to begin testing this breakthrough medical discovery on humans within the year. As a result, through extremely advanced and precise application, people will hopefully be able to reverse the physical withering of aging. The mice test showed that after administering a specific compound, muscle deterioration and related diseases reverse. The compound given to the mice seemed to not only strengthen muscles, but reduce inflammation in muscles, create insulin resistance as well as give the mice more energy.

The biology in the article linked bellow, although summarized by the author, is far to complex for me to even begin re-writing. However, I can say that the end results are spectacular. Although this new age reversing discovery defies nature itself, I think that the medicine can be used extremely effectively in preserving the world's most important people. I am excited to see the application of this significant of a drug and hope that it hasn't completely put the matter of life and death into the hands of humans.

  2. This is news is very exciting, if slightly alarming. It is doubtful, that such technology can be used to completely negate the effects of aging and permanently defy death, but it might significantly increase life span. If so, then I wonder how humans will apply this technology, if the ability arises. It seems brutally unfair for such a drug to be only available to the richest people, but that is often how technology is distributed, and obviously mass use of such technology would cause a disastrous population increase.
