Southwest pilot to passengers: 'We're going down' - Emily Gray 5th period

On November 14, a plane on its way to Raleigh-Durham gave its passengers quite a scare. Suddenly the pilot said "we're going down" said Wills, a passenger on this flight. Everyone was in complete shock and in panic of the feeling that if they are going to die or not. Another incident like this happened in September, a southwest flight got a pigeon stuck in its engine on the way to Raleigh-Durham. Although no one one seriously injured, it did give people quite a scare.

This article was written by Dylan Stableford, Yahoo! News. It was written for the general public. I think that it is crazy to have this happen twice going to Raleigh-Durham. It really spooks me that this could happen anytime and anywhere on a plane. What really concerns me is that the pilot just said "we're going down" and nothing else. It would have helped if he said it wasn't anything serious like you are going to die or anything. If he would have said it was just a minor detail and everything is ok. I would have felt save and not freaked out, but I feel like just all those other panicking people if I just heard that little phrase.
