Eliot Higgins is the man behind much of the uncovering of Syria's chemical weapons ordeal. Higgins has no true qualifications for what he does, but the facts he has unearthed are sparking no complaints from the experts.
What does Higgins do exactly? He surfs the internet! (much to his wife's disdain) Higgins is one of many amateur web-surfers who have taken it upon themselves to find interesting tidbits  of national concern that the professionals may not find until it is too late.
Higgins found Syrian chemical weapon abuse on the internet via Syrian citizen sources & began to leak his evidence, sparking action & we all know the rest of the story.

while this is an interesting story, I can understand why the government and other organizations would find a source like Eliot Higgins to be unreliable at best. kinda cool though that people sit around and by personal choice, spend their days on the internet searching for international news that may or may not contain any legitimate substance whatsoever.
