Russian Jet Crashes by Addison Jordan

Summary: A Russian jet crashed while trying to land in the city of Kazan. The Tatarstan Airlines flight carried fifty passengers and crew. Ministry spokeswoman Irina Rossius said, “there was no indication of survivors.”

The Boeing 737 took off from Moscow's Domodedovo International Airport, about 700 kilometers west of Kazan. Aboard the plane were forty-four passengers and six crewmembers. The authorities are still trying to find out what caused the plane to crash.  The jet was making its second landing attempt, although they have no idea why the first attempt was not successful. According to Rossius the crash occurred about 7:25 p.m.

A passenger who flew on the exact same plane earlier in the day said the landing was scary due to a heavy vibration during the last few minutes of the flight.  There were suggestions that Russian planes are aging, but there could be other factors involved also.  This is not the first Russian plane to crash in the recent past.

Analysis: In situations like these, there isn’t much you can do. You can’t blame the crash on anyone because everyone died and there is no one to accept fault. It is very tragic to hear about situations like these.  I enjoy flying and do not want to hesitate to board an aircraft.  It is important that maintenance is properly done on all aircrafts before they are allowed to leave the ground.
