Google Maps shows dead Boy- Ashley Barnes, 2nd

SUMMARY: Google Maps had a satellite view of a fourteen year old boy who was slain in 2009. The boy's family was just recently made aware of this; and they want to the picture taken down. Because Google is generally not very willing to replace satellite photos, the boy's father has been willing to involve the law. Hopefully the photo will be removed.

ANALYSIS: I find it terrible that this happened in the first place, yet even more terrible that they boy's family had to identify and deal with that traumatic event once more. I feel as though people should be able to request certain parts of the map to be deleted without getting much push back.

  1. I totally agree with you, Google should take that down, just for the general good of the people.

  2. I agree with both of you. That isn't appropriate for google to have available for people to see. It must be hard enough for the family mourning the child. They don't need another thing to worry about.

  3. They should definitely remove that, it's at least the right thing to do for the family. Also, some other very strange things have shown up on Google maps, for example, a nonexistent island.

  4. This is awful! It will not be the end of the world for Google to take another satellite photo. They really owe this to the well-being of the family.
