Work Out While Sitting - Zien Lin (P4)

Summary: A meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine showed that from studies, people are generally 30% less active on days that they exercise compared to days when they don't. It also showed that the average American spends about 64 hours a week on their butt, so companies have made chairs that are supposed to keep the sitters "fit." These chairs can range from costing $295 to over $800.

Analysis: I doubt the people who have to spend that much time sitting down in an office are willing to shell out nearly a grand for a chair so they can be uncomfortable while they sit for 64 hours a week. This is for lazy people with money wanting to find an excuse to not really exercise.

  1. I find this invention quite unnecessary. This just shows how lazy people in our society have become. Plus, how accurate does this chair really sound? In my opinion, I find it hard to believe that a person can stay "fit" just by sitting in a chair for hours.

  2. Exercising one hour a day will not hinder anyones schedule. Instead of eating Canes and watching your favorite 1 hour TV episode, you can work on the elliptical and watch the same show while burning calories.
