US carbon dioxide pollution down 3.8 percent - Devin Lewis

Written by Associated Press' Seth Borenstein, we are brought the article "US carbon dioxide pollution down 3.8 percent." Last year the United States had cut its energy-related carbon dioxide levels by 3.8 percent, which happens to be the second biggest drop since 1990. This drop is due to the ongoing American recession and Americans cutting back. Another variable that has contributes to the reduction is due to warm winter weather and a shift to coal power.
Borenstein states as even as America seems to be headed in the right direction, we are bound to bounce backwards. And even though this is a sign of approvement, " this alone will not lead us toward the dramatic carbon reductions necessary to avoid dangerous climate change," said Pennsylvania State University climate scientist Michael Mann. This was written for the American people as both a feat and a warning towards are use of carbon emissions.

  1. I think that's great that there are actual results of the "green revolution." I am hopeful that Americans will realize how precious our resources are and continue to preserve them.
