Halloween Eye Contacts- Montana Dalton 2nd period

DONT TRY THEM

There's been a consistent study that the Halloween contacts have been causing permanent eye damage! These commodities are now officially illegal to sell, according to a warning published on Thursday by the Food and Drug Administration. Because these fun decorative contacts are considered a medical device regulated by the FDA; salons, Halloween stores, and street venders that sell them without a prescription are actually breaking the law, as well as creating danger for the people who wear them by possibility of impairing their vision.

This goes to show how even though our society today is advanced in studies, technology, and car; we are still able to make misjudgments and mistakes that could cause harm to others.

  1. Wow this is very scary to think that parents buy these for their kids Halloween costumes. People need to stop selling these contacts illegally because it could cause great damage to many many people.

  2. It is a pretty frightening thought to think that wearing some silly contacts for a costume could permanently damage a person's eyes. It seems like the companies producing these contacts would have done research of their own to ensure that they were safe before selling...then again, with the competitive nature of businesses in these modern times, they were probably more focused on making money rather than providing good-quality products for the consumer.

  3. Those contacts freak me out even without knowing that they can cause eye damage! I know a significant number of people who own a pair of these contacts, so I'll have to spread the word as to how they can damage your eyesight. I also find it funny at to how advanced our medical technology is becoming, and yet a pair of colored contacts can cause you to light your sight.

  4. Yikes! Who knew? That's kind of scary and random...I'll have to keep that in mind so I can warn other people who don't know about this. However, I still think that there are probably types/brands of colored contacts out there that are harmless, because they've been around for so long. I guess it's just a matter of knowing where to look. Still, if it were me, I wouldn't take my chances!

  5. It's so scary to think about what other products could be on the market that are dangerous! I hope the regulations help to keep these contacts out of the hands of children who are unknowingly doing such damage to their eyes.
