Julian Randall - Chris Brown's troubled years _ 5th Period

Summary: The singer Chris Brown and his bodyguard were arrested this morning and charged with felony assault, according to the Washington Metropolitan Department. His bodyguards' name is Christopher Hollosy. Both Brown and Hollosy were in an active altercation with a man out side of the W hotel at approximately four thirty in the morning. The bodyguard and the Brown were taken into a central jail. And the victim was taken to the hospital for injury treatment, and was released later on this morning, says CNN. The event took place in Washington, where Chris was hosting a homecoming party at the Park at a club, about four blocks from where he was arrested. The appalling factor of the entire situation is that Chris Brown was on probation, which makes the situation even worse. He is still on probation from the Rihanna incident that took place in 2009. Thus, any arrests made within his probation period would result in a violation of his probation, ordering him to 1,000 more hours of community service hours as a consequence.

Analysis: This article was created by Alan Duke, with CNN, at 5:33 on Sunday October 27, 2013. I was well aware that Chris Brown was previously involved with other felony related scenarios, however, I was not aware that he was on probation. And quite honestly, I'm very surprised Chris got off as easy as he did. Overall, having this prior knowledge of the situation helped me to better understand the article tremendously. I think this article was written for a relatively young audience, considering they would be the people who would actually care, and who know of this artist and listen to his music. In conclusion, I simply think its sad to see young artist getting into trouble because not only does it give them a bad reputation, but when you have youth consistently viewing you, doesn't it make sense that you ensure that you're image is good at least majority of the time?

  1. I personally think that 1,000 community service hours is a huge amount, but it is the amount that he should serve most definitely. I also think he needs to realize the mistakes hes making or else hes just going to build a deeper hole for himself.
