They escaped through a hatch above the shower head. These hatches led to a door outside of the jail's "land".
This, in a way, reminds me of the Alcatraz escape. It is not quite as nifty or clever. However, it did use wit rather than violence (which I suppose is a good thing). It is good that the authorities are so on top of finding criminals.
It is somewhat concerning that they were able to escape so easily. Maybe better systems of security should be put up. However, it is good that they were able to relocate them so quickly.
