Gay Marriage in New Jersey! Peyton Wilson 5th

http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/21/us/new-jersey-same-sex-marriage/index.html?hpt=us_c2

Synopsis:                              On Friday, the New Jersey Supreme Court denied the state's request to                                                   temporarily prevent such marriages.
Troy Stevenson, executive director of the gay rights group Garden State Equality, said last week that the high court's decision means "the door is open for love, commitment and equality under the law."
"This is a huge victory for New Jersey's same-sex couples and their families," added Hayley Gorenberg, deputy legal director of gay rights group Lambda Legal and the organization's lead attorney on the case. "Take out the champagne glasses -- wedding bells will soon be ringing in New Jersey!"

Analysis:
I think this is great! One more state that has taken a step in the right direction. However, it does remind us that there are people who don't support it and those people are still standing in the way of the other 36 states legalizing what New Jersey and the 13 others already have. But still, this is some very motivational progress. Minds are changing everyday and yesterday New Jersey was just another state same-sex couples couldn't get married in. Above all and despite all of the negativity that still plagues, this just shows that we are making progress slowly but surely.

  1. This is really encouraging to hear. Hopefully Texas will get on this as well and make it a reality.

  2. It so interesting how many oppose it, i wonder if you could really protest by the idea of equality rights!

  3. Yay for New Jersey! I hope that all states follow quickly. When this generation looks back when we are all seventy we are going to think this whole thing was just downright ridiculous. Equality of rights is a must, the government should not allow marriage discrimination to even be a thing in the first place.
