Shorelines Drained of all Water- Isabella Firsching

Hurricane Irma swept over and decimated many Caribbean islands, a bazaar side effect of the powerful winds left many with an "eerie" view. The water that had created many picturesque beaches and shorelines had seemingly disappeared, in its place only miles and sand and mud. The sheer force of hurricane Irma's winds pushed the ocean water offshore, only to return after shifts of wind patterns and the northern movement of Irma. Unfortunately this rare occurrence, though fascinating, only lasts so long, and the return of the ocean water is anything but peaceful. Once the eye of the storm passes the water will be forced inland in a powerful storm surge. Many warnings have been issued encouraging south Floridians not to attempt and view the dry beaches and "MOVE AWAY FROM THE WATER" as stated in a warning by the National Hurricane Center.
I was completely unaware of the phenomenon, not surprising since the last reported occurrence was in 2012 during hurricane Sandy. On a more lighthearted note, there must have been amazing uncovered sea shells. Right?
