Elle Holland Current Event

Hurrican Irma was upgraded to a category 4 storm Monday prompting emergency declarations in Florida and Puerto Rico. Although the path of the storm is uncertain, it poses many threats for the Us and its citizens. As of 11 o'clock the hurricane 410 miles east of leeward isles with winds of 140 mph. The storm is only going to continue to get worse due to the water temperate increasing throughout the week making it intensify.

I believe that we need to be fully prepared for this storm to make its damage on our country and be ready to do what we need to to keep everyone safe. I pray that the storm starts getting better soon and we can recover from this stronger than before.

  1. After Harvey hitting the Texas coast, hearing that anther hurricane is taking over a different community is heartbreaking. Although they may be preparing, there is no way to truly prepare for the damage hurricanes cause.

  2. This is true Carsyn, however our country is more yam prepared for this kind of threat, and it has been said that federal compensation will be provided for hurricane Harvey and so it is assumed that the same will be true with Irma. It will still greatly affect us, but hopefully we can prevent the damages even better than we did after Harvey

  3. You say that you hope we recover stronger from this, and I completely agree, but how might we go about doing that? I feel like most of our country is on the same page but no one knows how to help after the storm passes.

  4. I agree with Sadie... Hurricane Harvey hurt so many people. I wonder how Irma is trying to prepare. People from harvey have been so brave and strong and I look up to that

  5. This is so upsetting. Harvey has been so horrible to so many people. I really hope this storm does not hurt anymore, but in the least this same area.
