FISA is basically what protects us from the abuse of the act of the government using surveillance of someone when they are considered a threat.
Summary:
Basically, The House Intelligence Committee would like to release the memo of FISA. This memo includes many counts of the abuse of surveillance, even with FISA in place. Many GOP lawmakers even saw this 4-page document as "troubling". The white house seems to support the release, but Trump's support is unknown.
Personal stance:
I support the release of the documents for transparency's sake. There has not only been some opposition in the gov. to not release the documents, but also many people who read the document who said it was appalling. That, to me, is kind of a warning sign.
Relates to history:
Political corruption and abuse in the past occurred many times. This can be seen by how monopolies and trusts had a great power of influence of the gov.
