Trump has just made it clear he does not intend to enforce new law that would have punished Russia for interfering with the 2016 election. To literally no one's surprise, Trump was dragged in the press for doing the bare minimum (if even) to stop foreign interference in the election again. Even several Senate member have written him a letter talking about how his inadequate action is "unacceptable". One official even goes as far as to claim "the president of the United States is not taking action to defend this nation."
This is wildly important because this means, with no real punishment for tampering in he US election, foreign countries basically have free reign over our political process. Considering there is nothing stopping another country form absolutely wreaking havoc on the voting system, it is bound to happen again. Action needs to be taken and our laws need to be justly enforced.
