The Martian movie is becoming reality... By 2022, Elon Musk will send one hundred brave people to Mars. The astronauts will live within forty cabins, and arrive on the planet by one of Musk's inventions: the space ship named the Big Falcon Rocket. These brave souls also get to enjoy a large commons area and entertainment center within the community. The cost of this mission is not revealed, but Musk is planning on reusing the Big Falcon Rocket to reduce the costs. Most spaceships take about six to nine months to reach Mars, but Musk's goal is to make it in three. Also, his plan (on Earth) is to transport anyone to anywhere in less than an hour with his inventions of bullet trains and planes. Elon Musk is not going to put the BFR to waste after the brave humans colonize Mars; this ship will clean up the solar system by "gobbling" up old satellites and other junk trapped in Earth's orbit. The SpaceX isn't the only company with their eyes on Mars. NASA is working with Orion to create the "Mars Base Camp," or a mobile space habitat and will be assembled at NASA's Deep Space Gateway.

Elon Musk's mission to colonize Mars will make a great impact on US history by being the first country to send astronauts to temporarily live and study on Mars. The people preparing to fly to Mars and experience something that no one has ever experienced makes a connection to the English colonists arriving to the New World for the first time. Mars is like their "New World" and they will be the first people to ever go there. They will have to adjust how they live like the colonists did in Jamestown, and will have to adapt to the brand new place without having any experience with visiting an unfamiliar planet other than Earth. The English colonists's purpose for settling in America was religious freedom like the astronauts purpose to go to Mars is to study life on a new planet. The footprint the brave scientists will make as they are stepping off the Big Falcon Rocket will make an even bigger footprint on United States history as 2022 being the year that one hundred people will successfully colonize Mars.

  1. This is so interesting that a seemingly impossible, fiction, movie is becoming a reality. I am actually astonished at the people who would risk their lives for a cause such as this though, I think you have to ask yourself, what are they running from?

  2. This is so cool. I didn't know this was actually possible. The flight to Mars takes a long time about 300 days and there are a lot of things could go wrong. It will be cool to see when humans land on Mars.
