This week, following the Stormy Daniels scandal, Melania Trump has done nothing to combat the rumors. This is very out of character for her, as she is usually there to "rationalize his behavior, dismiss his accusers or hit back against naysayers". She defended him after his speech on grabbing women's genitals, during claims of sexual assault and supported him when he tried to get President Obama to share his birth certificate. After the story broke, there was almost no public statements, but she did cancel a trip to Switzerland with the President. After this decision, she went to the President's Florida estate to relax. This flight cost  $16,168 per hour, and in total, taxpayers paid about $64,000.

  While I understand that everything she does is being negatively dissected, I found her response unsurprising. Despite all the movements to empower women, Melania will never be the person to support and lead the movement. Her husband has done too much, and her reactions to his bad behavior have become white noise mediocre responses.
