Recently, women have been standing up a lot against men and the cruelty that has been downplayed over the past decades that involve sexual abuse and assault. The Larry Nassar case is just one example. He was a USA gymnastic personal trainer/doctor. He has abused hundreds of children telling them they have to do it to be successful, and almost brainwashing the kids into thinking it was okay and that he was the best. Only just recently has all this information come out and gone to court in Michigan. It has ruled that for the rest of his life he will be in jail. Many of the victims of the assaults were at the case/ruling, including Aly Raisman, Olympic gold medalist. She was not allowed to speak her letter that she wrote for him, but her face and actions showed her will to stand against him.

I believe this is written for all women and men to educate us about how to stand strong and always stand up against evil things. This relates to APUSH, because around the industrial revolution, women became more involved and began standing up, just like we are now.

  1. I'm glad to hear that he will be in jail for the rest of his life because he completely deserves it. I hope that events like these will stop soon.

Hearing that women have spoken up against Larry nassar is very empowering. It is sad to hear that a person like your doctor that you trust with your body would take adavantage of you. He deserves his sentence.

I watched Aly's testimony against Nassar on youtube and so many others. They were all so strong when speaking, it was so inspiring to see these women who have been silenced for so long finally find their voice to speak out. For so long they were taught that this was their fault, but now they can see the truth, and that's truly amazing. I'm happy to see that justice is being served, this man deserves it. He's ruined hundreds of lives over the past thirty years.

  6. It is so inspiring to see women taking a stand for their rights instead of stepping aside. These people are role models for so many people and speaking up for themselves sets great examples.
