Racism in the NBA? Devon Travis

The LA Clippers coac, Donald Sterling, is now under investigation and suspended from playoff games because of a leaked recording; He was criticizing his girlfriend for posting instagram pictures with black people- including Magic Johnson. The teammates of the Clippers are outraged, and they staged a silent protest to show that they are all in this together. (cheesy high school musical reference) The National Basketball Association is investigating the contents of this recording to determine the true meaning behind his bickering with his girlfriend. Many famous basketball stars slammed Sterling, but i could understand why.

With recently learning about the Civil Rights Movement and racism/segregation, it's heartbreaking to see this still going on today. We can't hide the fact that people are still racist in America, but you would have assumed people of importance would understand to keep their views a little more private. I support the Clippers in their decision for a private protest, it shows Sterling that they won't have whatever he has to say. Better find a new coach pretty soon.

  2. Racism isn't truly dead, it's just gone into hiding.
