"Adam Silver Bans Sterling For Life" (Melissa Kurtzman, 5th Period)

Summary: On Tuesday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver banned Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling from the NBA for life and also fined him $5 million. This turn of events comes after a recording was released by TMZ over the weekend that included Sterling making various racist and outrageous remarks to his supposed girlfriend. Players, coaches, and fans have all expressed backlash over Sterling's comments and some have even silently protested; the Dallas Mavericks wore black shoes during their game on Monday in solidarity against Sterling.

Analysis: I think Silver made the right call in banning Sterling from the NBA. Sterling has been labeled as racist for many years and has been suspected of buying his way out of numerous business and personal lawsuits so I'm glad karma has finally turned against him. I hope the new owner of the Clippers is much more fair in the way they treat the players, team employees, and others and brings a new light to the Clippers and the NBA.
