Sophie Knox- Stephen Hillenberg dies

Summary: The creator of Spongebob, Stephen Hillenberg , died at age 57 from ALS on November 26, 2018. Hole berg was diagnosed with ALS a year ago in March, and unfortunately it is a very rare disease. It’s a nervous system disease that weakens mussels and there is treatment, but it can’t cure the disease. He was cremated and his ashes were rightfully scattered at seas. He graduated from Humboldt State University and later became a marine biology teacher. His work and love for the sea later inspired him to create Spongebob. Hillenberg decided to go to animation school in California and got his Master of Fine Arts. In the same year he graduated, he won an award for Best Animated Concept for his short film “wormholes”. Then he would join Nickelodeon and direct/produce “Rocko’s Modern Life.” After that show ended he began making the world famous show “Spongebob”.

Analysis: I used three different articles because not one article didn’t have much information. The audience for all these articles are spongebob fans. The purpose of these articles are to spread the message of his death, while also giving background information on him and how he created Spongebob. One of the articles is personal and explains why this was significant to the writer. Spongebob is one of the most popular T.V shows (even my Dad watches it), and most children have grown up watching it. I can relate this event to when Stan Lee died or Walt Disney died.
