Snow Storm-- By Diya Ghayal

Summary: In the South Eastern states, a heavy snowstorm swept through with some areas having up to 1'8" of snow. There have been at least 3 deaths due to this sudden blizzard, and thousands of flight and other transportation plans have been cancelled. Over 300,000 people were impacted by electricity outages in North and South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia. The main danger of this snowstorm is actually on the roads, rather than being outside or in your homes. There have been over 700 car crashes in these areas, due to the heavy snow, ice, and traffic. There have been horrible cases, where frozen trees have fallen on to vehicles with people in there, and cars that have gotten into accidents to black ice that had formed. (A thin layer of ice that is dangerous and slippery on highways and bridges mainly)

Analysis: This article was last updated 4 hours ago, which means the information is relatively up to date. This blizzard, although its not as bad, can relate to the horrible ones that occurred in USA's history. For example, in 1888 there was a blizzard called : The Great White hurricane, which caused 40-50 inches of snow, in Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and New York. The article was written for people in the USA, and also people located in the Snow Storm's region. Before this article I was unaware, of the other states' weather conditions, but now I am. This article was created to warn us about the horrible weather conditions and seasonal changes occurring in America, and to also forewarn us of the hazards that come with driving in snow, sleet, ice, and hail.

  1. I love your connections. The blizzards are a concern since people live in those areas.
