ERYN FAYSON- No jail for Baylor student accused of fraternity rape

ERYN FAYSON

No jail for Baylor student accused of fraternity rape

In this article, there was a man from Baylor University who was accused of raping a women at a fraternity party. Judge Ralph Strother  accepted the plea deal for Jacob Walter Anderson, who was indicted on  sexual assault charges and pleaded no contest to a lesser restraint. A no contest plea meant he did not admit guilty, but will not admit defense. This was not the first time the judge has been lenient with sexual assault charges. There was at least 3 other cases he has done like this. The girl who accused the man of rape was devastated and said the county justice system "is broken".

Analysis: This is ludicrous that the judge had ruled many cases like this. He has to be stopped and how are the men going to learn if they get a easy slap on the wrist. I think this article was written to make people aware of these type of situations and what is not being done right. This relates to history,  because many things in the justice system was not acted upon accordingly. For example, the cases between white males and black males. There are many cases where the black male individual will get a worse sentence than a white male individual who did the same thing. The system is broken in many ways so we have to help make it better case by case.
