CNN Style: What if Nixon beat JFK?
The article I read from CNN isn't so much of a current event as it is a blast from the past. This article questions and evaluates five things that would be different JFK lost the election of 1960 to Richard Nixon. Cuba could be our 51st state, Neil Armstrong may have just been an average man, and the Watergate scandal may not have happened. All these topics exist because of John f. Kennedy's presidency after his win and 1960 and are discussed throughout the article.
I found this article especially interesting because I feel as though the Americans of my generation only JFK for his death in Dallas, our city. However, this article shows his historical significance to our country and how different, in good and bad ways, America would be without his contributions. Although I wasn't alive during the time of his presidency, I have major respect and gratitude towards achievements as the Unites States president.

  2. Sometimes we don't realize just how much our presidents do for us, so it is interesting to see how things would've turned out differently.
