Victoria Garza "U.S. Anti-Gang Sweep Yields Over 1,100 Arrests"

Originally called Project Shadowfire, this initiative was started by the immigration agency in 2005, targeting violent gangs. Over the past couple years, this organization has brought in over 40,000 gang related arrests and have collected over 8,000 firearms. Since February alone, they have arrested more than 1,100 people.
It is important for us to begin trying to control guns and violence. I think it is important for us to justly arrest people who threaten the safety of citizens and their families. This is relevant to US history because of the various violent actions caused by gangs or hate groups like the KKK. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/29/us/us-anti-gang-sweep-yields-over-1100-arrests.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fus&action=click&contentCollection=us&region=stream&module=stream_unit&version=latest&contentPlacement=1&pgtype=sectionfront
