Missing Woman Found in Texas- Emily Eppig 8th Period

After 40 years of being missing, 69 year old Lula Ann Gillespie-Miller has been found living in a small town in Texas. She left home in Indiana when she was 28 because the thought she was too young to settle down and be a mom to her 3 children. An anonymous tip led the lead detective on the case to a woman in Texas living under an alias who confirmed she was the missing woman. This is a very strange case.
It can be synthesized to the pre sexual revolution shame that came with being a young mother. Especially because the article gives no mention to a husband, much like women in the early 20th century, Gillespie-Miller might have felt shamed by her peers.
I think it's a real shame that her children had to grow up without a mother no matter the reason she left. The only good thing is that she is safe and has been alive this whole time.
