Victoria Garza 9th period: White Supremacist Convicted of Killing 3 at Kansas Jewish Centers

Frazier Glenn Cross, former Ku Klux Klan member and supporter of anti-Semitism, was convicted of capital murder for the shooting of three people outside the Kansas Jewish Community Center. Frazier claims that he was doing a service to the white race and also stated that “Diversity is a code word for white genocide!”.

It angers and disgusts me that such a closed-minded, racist individual still exists in today's society. I think it is important for us as a nation to embrace our individuality, accept the uniqueness of others, and truly have equal rights and freedom. Instead of embracing diversity, Frazier seems to think that creating a society consisting of only Caucasian individuals and non-Jews is the only option. He even dehumanizes Jewish people saying that he "wanted to kill Jews, not to kill people". To see a person want to rid of these individuals to the point of actually taking their lives is inhumane. The worst part of it is to see how little he cares about the people he murdered, acting like what he did was the right thing. Racism has been seen throughout US history in slavery, segregation, and with groups like the Ku Klux Klan. It's disappointing to see that to this day it still exists among us.

  2. I agree with how disappointing it is that there are still people who have these types of viewpoints about others. It makes me question why they think that way, are how their circumstances may have shaped them to believe that their hatred is justified. I think that people of different cultures/races/beliefs etc., should remember the value and the benefits that different people can offer to our world.

  3. I am amazed at how ridiculously close minded people can be. Some people see that if you are anything except their race or their religion that you are nothing but wrong, or in this case that you are should not or do not deserve the title human and should be rid of. These types of people have opinions and beliefs that are close to impossible to change, but it's important for americans to remember and except the good of diversity (Lia K.)
