Obama wants the closing of US military prison at Guantanamo Bay, but the Congress does not agree with that that. President Oboma is determined to shut down the prison before the end of his 2017 term. there is currently 116 members in the prison compared to 2006 when there was 684 inmates. They are slowly sending them to their homes. Some of the inmates are "too dangerous" to release according to Congress. The camp was made by Bush back in 2002 to detain the most dangerous.
The Guantanamo Bay is probably not going to be closed any time soon. Barack's promise to the people was it was his goal to close down. My question is why does he want to close it if it holds captive prisoners that got in prison for their malevelous actions.
*Barack Obama wants to close the prison down because the *malevolent prisoners inside of Guantanamo Bay are subjected to extreme torture that is not worth any crime and is a textbook violation of human rights. Everything happening inside of Guantanamo Bay falls under the category of "cruel and unusual punishment" and that is a gross display of the majority of the government having no real respect for it's own laws.
