Trump Video Goes After Bush Immigration By Savannah Boyack

Donald Trump released a new campaign video about immigration directed toward republican presidential rival, Jeb Bush. It features a 2014 interview of Bush saying that illegal immigration is "not a felony" but an "act of love". The video points out a few illegal immigrants who are charged or convicted of killings. The following quote is in the video, "Forget love. It's time to get tough."

I don't really know what to think. Yes, illegal immigrants are a problem because it's illegal to come into the country unauthorized and there are some dangerous people who cross the border. But is there a place in America that does not have a single dangerous person? And those who have family in America or need a better life should not be shot down for trying to come here where they believe is safe. America is built on immigrants. Most of us are immigrants ourselves if we look in our ancestry. Out of everything, illegal immigration is definitely not America's biggest problem today so I don't see why Trump is putting so much attention on it.

  1. I agree that America's biggest problem isn't immigration. I disagree however that "immigrants are a problem," at least I don't believe that the existing illegal immigrants are an issue. Many illegal immigrants fill important jobs like construction, and mining etc. Many of Donald Trumps own workers are illegal immigrants. The point is, without these people America would be significantly weaker.
